Today, if you want to offer a streaming service, it’s very important to stand out. Why do you ask? Well, because there are so many streaming services out there, and many of them can be very expensive, especially when it comes to living sports broadcasts. Some sports streaming services set themselves apart by specializing, sometimes giving full access to just one league (for examples of this, you need to look no further than streaming services provided by trusted entities like the NHL, MBA, and NFL).
Other services, on the other hand, try to stand out by offering as many different sports and games as they can. These, of course, can make you feel lost, clumsy, and hard to get around. Even though they often give you the most content for your money and the most bang for your buck. The most important question to ask yourself when choosing the right sports streaming package for you is, “What sport(s) do I care about the most and watch the most often?”
If you said, “Football,” the NFL’s streaming service will probably appeal to you right away because of how niche it is. But if you like sports in general and don’t have a favorite, you might want to look into more general service.
There are also sports streaming services that are somewhere between the most specific and the most general. These services focus on a certain type of sport, not necessarily a single league or division of it. If you care most about being able to watch the latest fight, whether it’s boxing or Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), a streaming service called DZN might be your best bet (apparently meant to be pronounced Da Zone).
This is one of the best over-the-top (OTT) sports streaming sites and apps, especially if you spend a lot of money on Pay Per View broadcasts of the big fights. With a DZN subscription, you’ll never have to pay for a PPV again. With a single monthly or yearly cost, DZN, which is more expensive than other sports streaming services, could actually save you time and money.
What is DAZN?
DAZN is a live streaming service for sports fans that gives them access to events both in real-time and after the fact. DAZN subscribers pay a monthly fee and don’t have to sign a contract to watch sports and original shows on more than one device.
Perform Group made a big deal out of getting the exclusive global broadcasting rights to the J. League, which is the Japanese football league before it even started. The contract would give Perform exclusive rights for up to 10 years and cost Perform the same amount in Yen as $2 billion. Under this contract, DAZN, which is a part of Perform, would start broadcasting all J. League games from all three divisions in 2017. People often say that this deal was the biggest broadcast rights deal ever made in Japan.
So, DAZN first came out on August 10, 2016, in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The Japanese launch, which took place on August 26 of the same year, was also close behind. From there, DAZN kept getting bigger and bigger. In July 2017, DAZN started showing NFL games in Canada. In May 2018, it started showing games in the US after hiring John Skipper, the former president of ESPN, as its executive chairman. When it came to sports broadcasts, DAZN’s goal in the US was to go head to head with traditional US cable companies.
From there, DAZN made a long list of deals with different sports leagues in the US and around the world. They have put a lot of effort into catering to combat sports by buying the rights to many boxing and MMA companies. However, they have also set their sights on Major League Baseball and further expansion of their NFL Red Zone rights to balance out their combat sports offerings with more mainstream, family-friendly competitions.
The way DAZN is set up is pretty simple and makes sense. I think it’s very easy to use, and it won’t take you long to figure out how to get around on the service, no matter what device you’re using. Anyone who has used a movie or TV streaming service before should be able to figure out how DAZN works. You can scroll through the portal page to find exclusive commentary-based content and archived matches, or you can use the service’s simple and easy-to-use menu bar (located at the top).
From here, you have three easy choices. Home, Schedule, and Sports are the options. The second option has a handy dropdown menu that lets you pick and unpick the sports you are interested in from the list. This will make the content you see change based on what you want to see. So, once you make your own list of sports, when you click on, say, “Schedule,” the upcoming games and matches you see will be based on what you chose.
Both the apps and the site look very clean. Text is written in white on a simple black background. And the layout works well with the way you like to watch. On the home page, for example, you can find the “Don’t Miss,” “Classic Fights,” “DAZN Presents,” and “Keep Watching” sections. Overall, DAZN has everything you could want in a streaming service.

When DAZN has been down for any reason, people have used similar services instead. They want to know what happens in boxing, football, racing, and every other sport. But what else could we do? We’ve put together a list of free and legal options for you to think about. But you should know that some of these pages could have problems if copyright laws are broken.

Most people who sign up for DAZN do so because of its MMA content. This is really where this service shines since you can watch any live MMA fight that isn’t a pay-per-view (PPV) fight and look through a huge library of MMA fights whenever you want.
On the other hand, DAZN also has some original shows. For example, Change-daily Up’s MLB show jumps back and forth between live games, commenting on and analyzing each one as it happens. Every couple of days, MLB fans can read about the best parts of games. Aside from that, most of what you’ll find will be related to MMA and boxing, with the exception of events from cricket, fishing, darts, gymnastics, and, as we’ve already said, Japanese soccer that seem to be broadcast at random. So, sports fans outside of the US will also be able to watch live MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL games (due to contractual complications in the US, these are not available there).
Experience in Desktop and Mobile
No matter what device you use or what streaming quality you choose, DAZN seems to work pretty well (you can stream content in up to 4k). Almost everything about speed depends on how you connect to the internet. But as long as your wifi is good, you won’t have to worry about anything going wrong with DAZN. The service can also be used on almost all kinds of devices. You can play games and fight on your smart TV, smartphone, tablet, computer, or game console, and all of these options are easy to use, reliable, and intuitive.
Costs and plans
This is where my problems with DAZN start. It’s not inexpensive. In fact, it’s one of the most expensive ways to watch sports online. You can choose between two ways to subscribe to DAZN. You can pay $19.99 a month or $99 a year to save a little money and pay once a year. Unfortunately, DAZN doesn’t have a free trial period (at least not in the US), which is probably a good business decision because it keeps people from signing up for the trial every time they want to watch a PPV event for free.
Several ideas I have for DAZN
I would love for DAZN to add more content to its US service. And know that getting these contracts and rights from companies like the NFL and the NBA can be nearly impossible, but it would be nice for American viewers to be able to watch more than just MMA, boxing, and MLB highlights. I would also like to see the price go down, of course. At least for the US version, since the sports content is so strange.
How does DAZN operate?
Fans may access sporting events both live and on-demand thanks to the sports-specific live streaming service DAZN. DAZN customers pay a monthly fee with no commitment to view sports and original programming on numerous devices.
What services does DAZN offer?
NFL Game Pass, NFL RedZone, and NFL Sunday Ticket are all available on DAZN. The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, as well as PDC Darts and Snooker, are all available for live streaming in HD. Stream your preferred sports on various devices at home or while traveling.
Can I use my TV to access DAZN?
Do I need a TV to sign up for DAZN? You may register on your TV, indeed. And You just need to sign in if you already have a DAZN account. You can use any of our supported devices to access DAZN once you’ve configured it through your TV.
Is it simple to revoke DAZN?
The My Account section of the menu in the DAZN app is where you may cancel your DAZN account the quickest. The subscription will then expire at the end of your current payment term, and you’ll discover a link to the iTunes Store where you can cancel at any time.
UFC is available on DAZN?
Yes, DAZN offers UFC content. Subscribers have the option to view their favorite UFC programming on this platform utilizing a variety of devices for a low monthly cost.
If you live outside of the US, DAZN is definitely something you should look into. But if you are an American, you might want to keep looking, unless you are a huge fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) and/or boxing. Then DAZN is just what you need.
